There are only about 1300 students in all grades but currently former students attend Harvard, Duke, MIT, Georgia Tech, West Point Military Academy, Naval Military Academy, Air Force Academy, and UNC-Chapel Hill.



4. Clay County has over 64,000 acres of national forest that accounts for more than 50% of the total land area. There are over 7 miles of the Appalachian Trail in Clay County.

7. Four Golf courses are located in Blairsvile, Ga., Young Harris, Ga., and Hayesville, NC. Chatuge Shores Golf Course and Ridges of Mountain Harbour Resort and Club are located in Clay County near Hayesville, North Carolina.



8. In addition to the Ridges of Mountain Harbour Resort there are two other resorts about 10 minutes away in nearby Georgia: Brasstown Valley Resort and Ridges Resort.



9. Fun World for children has games including go-cart racing and baseball batting cages.



10. Fieldstone Cinema has six stadium seating theaters.



11. Hiking including the Appalachian Trail.



12. Georgia Mountains Fair Grounds is location of annual fair and the spring and Fall Music Festivals. Crafts and entertainment are included. Old fiddlers convention and superstar country music concerts.



13. Other entertainment includes Biking, Gem Mining, Horseback Riding, River Tubing and kayaking.
